My Impatience Died

My Impatiens Died
I once planted impatiens before the end of May, and they died because of my impatience. True Story. The frost killed my impatiens and reminded me I wasn’t very patient. I know it’s a little play on words, but just have some patience and bear with me.
Waiting on God is hard when you feel like you’re not moving. Life feels like a standstill, but the biggest test is learning to rest in his presence, leaning on him, and trusting in his perfect timing. That doesn’t mean that we sit around doing nothing. We need to pay attention while we are waiting. Laboring as we run ahead of God could cause our vision to wilt and grow cold. If we keep our hearts tuned to hear his voice and our eyes toward the Son, we will know the necessary steps to prepare. When he says “go”, we can begin to sow seeds and expand our garden. Our impatience must die, surrendered to the Lord. The garden of your heart will flourish if you follow these steps. Rest and Trust, Listen and Prepare. Then comes the harvest.
Whatever you are waiting on God for, keep the faith.  Keep trusting because his timing is always perfect.  As for my impatiens in the garden… I had to plant new ones that year.  Planting my garden before the early frost did not serve me well.  Sometimes, we have to start over, regroup and get a new set of eyes on our circumstances and impatience, then put our eyes on the Lord.
“Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.” Psalm 25:5
