Health Update – If you’re wondering why you haven’t received any new devotionals in your email…..

Update October 15/24

When the enemy knows you’re up to something good and God will get the glory, he pulls out all the stops.  I was about 3 weeks into recovery from my gallbladder surgery and feeling really good.

On Thursday, September 26, I rented a professional studio microphone from the music store, and we got it all set up. Thursday evening, I recorded all the vocals for a new song, All of My Days, the Podcast/Radio Show Daily Bread & Jams theme song. The following day, a delivery came to the door, and by some freak accident, I fell on the hard tile floor of our kitchen, and every disc in my spine snapped.  Every attempt by my husband to help me get up off the floor failed, and I felt my back was broken in two.  We called the ambulance, and I was lifted with a body sling to the emergency.  An x-ray showed that my T12 disc, just above the lower lumbar, had a compression fracture.  More bed rest and limited mobility were prescribed for the next 4-6 weeks.  The next day, Support LMV ministryI came down with a nasty virus that had evolved and spread through every area of my respiratory system and gave me an earache.  I am currently on my second prescription of antibiotics to clear it up.  My voice isn’t back yet, so I’m holding off recording video devotionals for a while. However, the good news is that the song All of My Days has gone into production. The enemy thought he could stop it, but he couldn’t.  I am writing these updates for you because the spiritual warfare and struggle are real.  If the enemy didn’t think our efforts were such a threat, I would not have faced such an array of obstacles and attacks.  For me, it was a reminder that this was what we are called to do, and that dying to self daily is crucial as we move forward. Your prayer and partnership are so vital as we step out in faith.

Support LMV ministryUpdate – Sept 17/24

I was not able to have surgery on Sept 5 because of a severe and random allergy attack while staying at a farm the prior weekend.  The allergy attack landed me in the hospital to get a steroid to treat the bronchial inflammation.   As I was prepared for surgery on Sept 5th, the surgeon felt that the bronchial inflammation still needed more treatment.   My doctor provided treatment Friday morning, and it worked wonderfully; however, only two hours after leaving the hospital after being prepped for surgery (that didn’t happen), I was having another gall bladder attack.  I returned to Emergency on Friday night after receiving the bronchial treatment. I was admitted and put on a liquid diet, and then I had surgery on Sunday, September 7th, in the afternoon at about 3:30 PM.  I have been recovering well, but the opportunity to slow down was not feasible.

Please check my video update below.

Although my weight loss has been steady and slow, it has likely upset my gallbladder. Coupled with a little car accident in mid-June, it’s likely all part of the process for my gallbladder.  They found one stone. Nothing actually wrong with my gallbladder at all. This single stone could be entered in the World’s Book of Guinness Records.  The surgeon said it was the largest they had ever seen.  It’s 2 inches in diameter and blocks a bile duct. That is why all the pain and sudden gallbladder attacks.  Therefore, after having 2 gallbladder attacks recently and ending up in Emergency at the hospital, I have seen a surgeon. My surgery is scheduled for September 5th.  Your prayers would be appreciated, and I trust the Lord that I will recover quickly.

Feeling pretty happy with myself losing weight God’s way. It has been a long journey.  First, I had to start feeling better. Second, I had to have the right mindset to start this journey. The weight I gained from being idle before my double hip replacement was starting to make me stressed.  I didn’t feel good. I ate “whatever” because I was stressed from the pain and lack of activity. Now that weight is starting to fall off.  I’m now into clothes that I fit into two years ago. Yep I saved them. If it was my favourite I kept it. Now I’m so glad I did. Down 20 pounds. Now on to the next level!

There were so many questions about how this all happened. Many were asking me to write down the strategy I used.  So I’ve written a little book that you can get a hold of.  The link is coming soon. If you want to follow my journey or get access to the link when it’s posted, please click the “Receive Instant Updates” on the right.

I’ll be back with an update.
