As a little girl, I was captivated by the folklore stories and the notion of gold at the end of the rainbow. Every time a rainbow appeared in the sky, I would look to see how far it spanned. I wondered how to get to the other end of the rainbow. If there was a rainbow, I was looking for the end of it. I just had to know what was on the other end of that rainbow.
Shortly after the birth of our first son, I began to suffer from terrible exhaustion and pain. After many doctor and specialist appointments, I was diagnosed, and for 13 years, I suffered from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, and Depression. God was still my refuge. A move to a new location was coming. You see, the owner of the entire townhouse complex sold the property, with all the rental units, to a real estate developer. What would we do? We had no savings, resources, or way to get the first and last month’s rent for another place to live. We had already moved once into another unit in the same complex. We had barely unpacked when we discovered we might be ousted as new homeowners purchased the newly renovated units.
Construction had been happening in one of the nearby units. Scott and I were curious. One day, we met the real estate developer and his crew. They were kind and encouraged us to ….
