Your Royal Heritage

It’s not that we have tremendous power or that there is something special about us. It’s simply that we are human, made in God’s image that makes the enemy rival against us. It’s the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us that makes the devil’s skin crawl. The light that burns from the oil in our lamps makes him toil and plot to snuff out the light in us. As much as he endeavours to attack, he can only win if we accept what he tries to place on us.  The Word of God says we are Overcomers through Christ.

“But in all these things, we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us” – Romans 8:37

One of the most often used scriptures to defend ourselves against the enemy is “No weapon formed against you shall prosper…” in Isaiah 54:17. Many quote this phrase but fail to realize the power of the entire verse. This verse is a declaration of the Lord. He is speaking to his followers, his people. You will see that the first line is what we commonly recite.

“No weapon formed against you will prosper, and YOU will condemn every tongue that rises against YOU in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness which is of me,” SAYS the LORD. – Isaiah 54:17

This verse is a declaration of the Lord. He is speaking to his followers, his people—this is for you and me too.  It continues by saying that YOU and I can condemn every tongue that rises against us in judgment. By not grasping the complete message of this verse and its richness, we miss out on understanding our heritage concerning this matter.

We are positioned with authority because it is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. After all, our righteousness is through him.

When you sense an attack, temptation, trouble, depression, sickness or disease, you can bold! Rise up and cast off judgment that may fall on you. Renounce and condemn any witchcraft, deception, evil words, or gossip that rises against you. This is your heritage and God-given authority as a child and follower of the Most High God.
