Merry Christmas

Imagine the awe on the young mother’s face as she gazed at her newborn Son for the very first time. In that moment, she kissed the face of God. Time stood still as she looked on the face of God Himself—and He looked right back at her. His tiny hand grasped hers, and with it, He claimed her heart forever.

He was her child, yet her Savior. Her infant, yet her King.

The Heavenly Father had made a way, charted since the beginning of time. Like in the garden at the beginning, God could once more walk among his children, but in the flesh.  God in the flesh, the Christ would reconcile the world to himself through the cross destined for our salvation.   Mary didn’t know all that was in store, yet she knew she was holding the promised Messiah in her arms.

She couldn’t tear her eyes away from Him. She overwhelmed by her love for this miraculous Child. But the greatest wonder was that He couldn’t look away either—His love for humanity was boundless.

Christmas has been muddled by other traditions, and folklore, but the early church knew the reason for the event of his birth long before Christmas came into being.

This Christmas, keep your focus on Christ. For some of us, this brings back the grief of losing a loved one or being alone at Christmas.  Remember that Jesus came into the world for you. Let the Child in the manger wrap your heart in His eternal love.
