A Season of Fire

Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, persecuted for their faith, they were thrown into a fiery furnace.  These three men of God refused to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar.   The king was so furious with them that he threw them into a fiery furnace.  The three men warned the King that their God would protect them from the fire.  When the king and his men looked, a fourth man stood in the fire with them.  Like the son of man, one could be seen standing with them in the fire while they were not singed, nor did the flames even touch them.  Stand in your faith, and trust the Lord because he is standing with you, whatever battle you are facing.

When we experience tough seasons, sometimes we feel like soldiers without reprieve from the battle. While a season of fire can be distressing, the Lord is our strength.   We build endurance and character that causes us to grow as the Holy Spirit teaches us during this time.  It will burn away the tainted things so that we can be purified and prepared for what God has next.

I wrote this song, “In the Fire,” during a time when I suffered from Fibromyalgia, Depression, and Chronic Fatigue. It was a 13-year battle. I tell this story in my book Wings to Victory (Available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble).

I pray the song is a blessing to encourage you.
