He is Coming Soon!

Revelation 22:20

He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus.

John saw terrible visions of the future—dreadful plagues, cosmic disturbances, vicious wars, and an evil ruler. But amidst these terrifying images, one promise brought immeasurable comfort: Christ’s words, “Yes, I am coming soon” (Revelation 22:20).

Though “soon” may seem distant, an event we can push to the back of our minds, it is closer than we imagine. Even the church in the Apostle Paul’s time expected his return soon.  Prophecy has become clearer, and we have seen them come to pass today when the church was still waiting in the wings for these prophetic events to come to pass. How much sooner can it be?

Are you truly ready for Christ’s return? This is not a question to be taken lightly. Being ready means more than just believing; it means living a life that reflects your faith, a life that is pleasing to God. It means being right with God, living in a way that honours Him, and sharing the Good News of Jesus with those around you. A “healthy heart check” is in order to remember that we must keep our oil ready and our lamps burning (Matthew 25). The urgency of His return should stir our hearts, awaken our spirits, and drive us to action.

If your heart is prepared, if your life is aligned with His will, then let this be your prayer of both comfort and anticipation: “Come, Lord Jesus!” Let the conviction of His promise fill you with readiness, not just for yourself but also for the sake of those who have yet to hear the truth. Time is short, and the stakes are eternal. He is coming soon—are you ready?
